Lana Parrilla being her gorgeous self for the Gracies!
ugh. where’s all the GOOD music these days. it’s all just rapping and beibers and directions. i miss the days where i could go into the local tavern and hoist a mighty flagon of mead to a jaunty tune on the lute of a young bard
only a real 15th century kid will get this
A few thoughts on Lana Parrilla
So, I just finished watching this 13:00 minute interview of Lana with this latino guy and I LOVED it. He asked good, respectable questions (also, I’m sure he was checking her out at a few points! Can you blame him!) Anyway, towards the end, he asked what advice she would communicate to aspiring actors/actresses. The response this woman gave almost made me tear up. I have never in the history of watching interviews of celebs, EVER heard ANYONE say what she said.
Lana: “Um, I would say… schooling is the number one. It’s the most important thing you can do for yourself. Um, stay in school, finish school and if you want to pursue an acting career, go back to school [laughs]. And really study The Craft for what The Craft is. Not to, be famous not to just get a shot. You know, a lot of people try just to get in television and in film without any experience or any studying or background and I encourage all students, young latino’s, latina’s, you know, all, everyone to continue staying in school and doing the best they can. And to study whatever their passion is to the fullest.”
I mean, WHO SAYS that????!?!? NO ONE!!!
More than half of Hollywood are college, even high school dropouts. While I admire their perseverance, school can do you no wrong! If you’re really passionate about it and you want to just be the best that you can be at your passion, you’d do everything you could to learn about it. Even if that means schooling. I’ve never heard any celeb tell the world to stay in school for whatever they’re studying. It’s always, “If you want, go chase it. No matter what.” And people leave school for that. Sometimes, if you’re lucky, you make it. But what happens if you don’t? You don’t have a degree cause you listened to Keith Urban say he dropped out of high school and “look where I am now!”
I’ll admit, I’ve had many, many, moments of thinking about not going to school and just finding people to start a band and go from there. But I’m not. I just go accepted to a music college and Minnesota. Why would I through that away? I do want to be famous, I have huge stars in my eyes and burning desire that won’t be put out till I obtain that fame, but I also know how important music is to me and how much I care about it.
In the end, guys, it’s worth going to school for. Even if it’s boring. Cause if you’re really as passionate about something as a lot of you say you are, the “technical” side of it will be worth Every. Single. Struggle.
If you put Kimbra’s voice with Florence Welch’s music…..
Pretty sure that would kill us all
